SPRING FLOWER SHOW DUE

ON SEPT. 17

A spring show is to be held by the Taupo Horticultural and Beautifying Society in the Memorial Hall, on September 17. The purpose of this show, apart from competitions, is to increase interest in all branches of horticulture.

Various sections such as decorative, vegetables, children's and bulbs contain different classes and competitions for many aspects of horticulture. There are classes for school children, girls' organisations, as well as others catering for all interests in gardening. Prizes vary from sums of money, specially donated prizes, cups and ribbons, to certificates, trophies, bulbs or seeds. An autumn display will be held on February 18, 1966 by the society. It is a non-competitive display of flowers, fruit and vegetables. A shop window display is to be held the same day when cups and certificates will be awarded to wdnners in each class.
