PICTURE FOR TAUPO'S NAMESAKE
The Taupo Borough Council will supply a picture of Taupo for the new cargo ship, the m.v. Taupo, built in England for the New Zealand Shipping Company. It was laimched on' August 27 and will be sent to New Zealand in ballast on its maiden voyage because of delays in British dockyards. The Taupo (10,500 tons), is the first of four ships being built for the line.
