FIRE PREVENTION WEEK IN

TAUPO SOON

A fire-prevention week will he held throughout New Zealand between September 27 and October 2. The main purpose of the week is to make people aware of the constant fire dangers in every day life, and in doing so, to reduce the amount of wastage from the high fire level of today. In Taupo, the Taupo Fire Brigade will open the station between seven and eight each evening, and on two* evenings during the week, there will be a public display of fire-fighting equipment. Members will be in attendance each evening a»d the public will be invited to inspect the station and ask questions. Similar work is being done on a national scale,

and such methods of publicity as posters, radio and television, local brigade work and stamp cancellation are being used to try and show people what havoc fire brings and how to prevent it.
