Roll?
Probably the most important aspect of the postal voting to be conducted by the county — but this also applies to Taupo borough's municipal elections — is the need for a correct entry on the roll. In both the county and the borough, the supplement,ary rolls are open until 5 p.m. on September 10 and ratepayers and residents are advised to inspect copies of the main roll to ascertain if their names are on it or not. Correct addresses are important for postal ballots. All eligible electors have a legal obligation to enrol and an offence is committed if this is not done and a fine can he imposed on conviction.
In Taupo the municipal roll is available for inspection at the borough offices and at the lihrary. The county roll is deposited at the county offices in Taupo and Mangakino and at Post Offices and stores throughout the county.
