Unhappy With Story On Rugby Clash

An elder of the Maori y>mmunity in Taupo, Mr T. A, Grace, hopes that a certain South African journalist will be "taken to task" for reporting that the Maoris wcre responsible for rough play in the Springbok's match against North Auckland. "This can create nothing but bad feeling for the game and also bad feeling between Maoris and Springboks on August 28," said Mr Grace. Mr Grace, a forward in the 1921 New Zealand Maori team, said the journalist was resurrecting what occurred in the much-publish-ed Maori match with the Springboks that year. The present Springboks were getting along well on this tour with everyone, including Maoris, he said. "And here we have another case of a reporter sending home to his paper something about rough play by Maoris in the North Auckland match," Mr Grace said.
