JIM CLARK, FARMER
RACE FAN
Jim Clarke, the 29-year-old Scot who won the Indianapolis last month at 150 m.p.h. in his Lotus- * Ford, and who drove another Lotus at Mosport, Ontario a week later, is "in real life" a farmer. He comes or farming stock, and runs a 1200-acre sheep farm called Edington Mains, near Duns, Berwickshire. His father runs a second farm « nearby. Next week, after returning to England, he plans "as sisual" to go straight north k to his farm. This time, he will be flying — Jim Clark •pends so much of his time commuting between London and Scotland for race-meet-Sngs, that he has just taken delivery of a four-seater light aeroplane.
He gained his pilot's licence in Australia last year and in future will be piloting himself from his farm, not only to London, but also direct to European racemeetings.
