Petition On Mortgages

A petition by David Aj*thur Farnum and 76 civilian farm settlers of the Rotorua, Taupo and Bay of Plenty districts was presented in the House of Representatives by Mr H. R. Lapwood, M.P. for Rotorua, last week. The petition asked for an amendment of Government policy to allow civilian settlers mortgages and securities to remain with the Lands and Survey Depart* ment for the full term of their loans. It was referred to the House Petitions' Committee for consideration.
