Site Work On Intermediate

School

Site devejjopment work for the proposed Taupo intermediate sch,ool in Kotare Street has begun. The contractors are L. M. Saunders & Co., Ltd, and the co/st oi the job will be about £4300. A South Auckland Education Board spokesman said that the work would include the laying out and grassing ©f the playing jields as well as the building platform. No -decision had yet been made ajs to when building would start, he said. The board would consider the matter and give it priority in accordance with the need for an intermediate school in Taupo.

The site development work has been started early because of the pumice soil and a desire to get a green sward well established before the school is started.
