Tokoroa Beaten By Taupo

Taupo beat Tokoroa in an interclub golf match played at the Taupo links on Sunday. Individual competitions staged in conjunction with the interclub match resulted: Morning, nine holes stableford: Taupo men, P. Potter 25; Tokoroa men, K. Ward 17; Taupo ladies, Mrs D. Barling 21, Mrs W. Dolman 18; Tokoroa ladies, Mrs T. Kirkman 18, Mrs Voight 16. Afternoon, 18 holes stableford: Taupo men, R. Reid 42, T. Leech 40; Tokoroa men, B. A. Kirkman 35, R. Hickman 34; ladies, Mrs F. Parry 35. Leech's 40 stableford points was gained from a round of 67, five under the scratch score. A. Nicol, of Tokoroa, was the only prize-winner in a men's twos competition in the morning. In the afternoon, twos gained prizes for Miss J. Branson, Mrs G. Colbeck Taupo), Mrs Kirkman, Mrs

R. Radley and Mrs J. Houltham (Tokoroa). Saturday's club competition, a bogey handicap, was won by W. Dolman (A grade) 5 up, and N. Stanley (B grade) 2 up. W. Dolman won the A grade stableford event with 43 points, followed by H. Thompson 41. N. Stanley was successful in the B grade stableford with 40 points, with M. J. Morel runner-up with 38. Prize-winners for twos were A. T. Foster (two), P. Watson (two), T. Clapperton, W. Dolman, H. Thompson, L. A. Reid, N. George, J. L. Wragge and T. Price.
