Seven Taupo People Hurt
In two aceidents within minutes of each other in Tokoroa on Sunday, seven Taupo people were hurt. The first occurred shortly after 11 a.m. when a car driven by Mrs H. Johnston, 107 Titiraupenga Street, slid on the icy roads and hit a bank. Mrs Johnston was taken to Waikato Hospital suffering from lacerations and shock. While police were still making inquiries, two cars collided only 100 yards away from the scene of the first accident. One car was driven by Mr J. van den Bosch, Taupo, the other by Mr K, A. Brightwell, Hamilton. Both Mr and Mrs van den Bosch and four of their five children were hurt and treated on the spot. A six-month-old baby escaped injury.
