Remanded On Two Charges
\ Pleading not guilty to a charge of unlawful conversion of a motor vehicle and guilty to one of driving while disqualified, Ben Erueti, alias Penaia Erueiti, 24, Turangi machine operator, was convicted on both counts and remanded until September 13 for sentence after he appeared in the Taupo Magistrate's Court this week. Kevin Golin Ross, 22, Turangi workman, was fined £7/10/- for careless driving. Admitting the theft of a car rear assembly valued at £15, a woolly hogget and a sheep skin belonging to the Lands and Survey Department, Colin Francis Bunn, 23, Taupo workman, was convicted and remanded for sentence in Rotorua on August 9. Proseeuting, Detective Sergeant D. L. Gray~ said that in the course of making investigations into the theft of the motor car parts, two sheepskins had been found in Bunn's possession. Neither had the ears attached. Bunn had admitted catehing and slaughtering the hogget for meat and taking a skin which he found on a fence of a Lands and Survey Block at Broadlands. He had removed the ears.
