Extension Of Limited Speed Zone

TURANGI (OC) The Turangi Liaison Committee considers that an extension of the limited speed zone north and south of the township would help towards road safety in the district. This was in agreement with recommendations set out in a letter from the Transport Department Rotorua, which was read to the committee at their meeting last Monday. Mrs B. Jorgenson stated that she considered such a move unsatisfactory, in that a full 30 mph limit should be enforced in the area, rather than an extension of limited speed zone. The committee agreed with her views, and decided that such a move should be made a matter of urgency, especially for the sake of the schoolchildren in the district.
