Water Waste Reduced
A systematic check on leaking taps and cisterns has been carried out, by offlcials concerned with Mangakino 's water supply. This has resulted in an appreciable saving in local water consumption, which had assumed alarming proportions. No suggestion has been made which would limit essential supplies, but the stoppage of prodigal waste must have saved ratepayers a substantial sum. One official spoke in warm terms of the co-operation of householders in what could have been a thankless task.
