OBITUARY

GEOGHAN

Mr Victor Allan Geoghan, formerly of Taupo, died suddenly at his residence in Te Kuiti in his 65th year. He was born in Taneatua and joined the Ministry of Works as a surveyor in Rotorua and moved to Taupo from Atiamuri as an overseer in 1942. He was a foundation member of the Lake Taupo Buffalo Lodge and he was superintendent of the Taupo Fire Brigade during the .1946 fires, and one of the organisers of the Taupo Gymkhana Club, from 1946 to 1952. He shifted to Te Kuiti in 1957 and was promoted to Inspector of Works in 1963, where he held this position until his death.. He is survived by his wife and son, Colin, of Taupo, and two daughters, Mrs Maureen Rankine, and Glenys, both of Te Kuiti.
