Driving Contest On Sunday

Taupo Jaycee will hold its teenage better driving contest at Story Place, on Sunday. This will be the fourth year in succession that the contest has been held. In past years, as with this year, applications for entry have been slow, but from experience Jaycee is sure there will be the usual large crowd present at the contest on the day. The events are open to all drivers, male and female, between the ages of 15 and 21 years, although this year only one person will qualify as the winner. The teenager, who will win on points, will attend the National Jaycee better driving contest at Palmerston North in September. All costs involved in this trip will be met by a petroleum company, which has made donations towards the project.
