House Site Work To Be Hastened

TURANGI.

(OC)

An acceleration of the site development programme at the Turangi Township was forecast by a senior MoW engineer, Mr J. Bennion, at a meeting of the Turangi Liaison Committee. Mr Bennion said it might be necessary to develop the residential sections in the town more rapidly than had been expected. A contract for the development of a further 180 residential sections had been let and contracts for the development of the services for the commercial centre were being processed. The availability of sites in the special commercial area had been advertised, he added. There had been some progress with the occupation of houses and the main services in the town appeared to he working satisfactorily.
