FIGHT TO THE LAST

The announcement of the King Country Electric Power Board's move to set up an electricity generating plant on the Rangitaiki Plains has drawn a comment from the Mayor of Taupo, Mr J. E. Story. "I will fight it to the last gasp," he said today. "They might as well know that now." Mr Story said he would make it plain he was against an outside board coming into the Taupo Electricity Department's district to generate power.
