New President For Taupo

Rotary Club

Mr. V. S. Pearce became pre,sident of the Taupo Rotary Club at the annual change-over evening held at the Terraces Hotel on Thursday night. Mr R. Johnston was inducted as vice-president, while Mr K. G. Winton and Mr P. White are, respectively, secretary and treasurer. Club directors are Messrs Johnston (club service committee), J. Murray (vocational, N. McMahon (community service) and K. Freundlich (international). The sergeant-at-arms is Mr K. G. Stewart and the corporal Mr R. Pettigrew. Bulletin editor is Mr D. Cameron and the pro-

gramme organiser Mr J. Young. Mr J- S. Lockyer, the retiring president, said the past year had been most successful. He thanked the officers responsible. On behalf of the club, Mr Eockyer presented cheques to the Taupo Kindergarten Association (£125), Taupo branch of the Crippled Children's Society (£10) and Taupo Plunket Society (£30). - The recipients for the organisations were Mrs N. McMahon (kindergarten), Mr Johnston (crippled children) and Mrs J. Murray (Plunket). Each of the recipients expressed thanks for the gifts made by the club.
