Red Cross Work

Taupo Red Cross will begin almost immediately to raise funds for further contributions for comforts for New Zealand soldiers and their wives and children in Malaya. Last week it was announced that £40 had already been g ven to this cause. According to Mrs A. M. Hope, of Taupo, it is generally found that soldiers coming out of the jungle after a spell of duty to have to be hospitalised for a short time. Wives and children in hospital are also looked after by the Red Cross team working in the area.
