Variety Concert In New Hall

About 390 people attended a variety concert on Satnrday night to mark the official opening of the St PauTp Presbyterian Church Hall. The profit of about £35 will be used for hall finishing work. The programme was organised by Mrs F. B. Dawson on behalf of the Association of Presbyterian Women in Taupo. The accompanist was Mrs J. Ashton. The wide range of items were of a high standard and thoroughly enjoyed by the audience. The items included a sailor's hornpipe by Ewen McCash; a duet by Mrs N, McMahon and Mrs R, Peatfield; "To milk a cow" by Mrs G. A. West and Mrs D. Williams; a quartet com prising Mesdames Ewer Christie, McMahon, Peatfielc and M. Sim; solos by Mrs Sim and Mr J. Cuming; tar- ^ antella by Alison McCash. Group items were child ren's songs, Scottish country dancing, a men's ballet, drama led by Mr R. Newman, and a fashion parad( directed by Mrs H. Callender. The trumpeter was Pau West.
