At Hastings

The Taupo Indoor Basketball Association sent a women's team to the Hastings friendly representative tournament. The team was: C. Draper, H. Ceddiman, T. Woodney; J. O'Brien, P. Mahar, J. Flintoff, M. O'Brien, M. Gourley (captain). The first game was against Hastings who proved to be the better team. C. Draper top-scored . for Taupo with 16 points. The second game resulted in a win for Dannevirke. This time, M. Gourley topscored for Taupo with 1C points. The third game, againsl | Napier, also proved to bc (too much for Taupo. Re

! sults were: . Hastings 3o, : Taupo 19 Dannevirke 49, ; Taupo 17; Napier 49, j Taupo 6. I These scores are no disIgrace for Taupo. Hastings, Dannevirke, and Napier all practice on full-sized courts, which is a great advantage. For four of Taupo's players, this was their first time to play on a full-size court. M. Gourley was out on her own with some beautiful intereeptions: C. Draper and T. Woodney worked really 1 hard right through the tour- ■ nament. H. Ceddiman, a " first-year player, works 1 better on a big court than a small one. J. O'Brien, P. : Mahar, J. Flintoff and M. O'i Brien all did some good - guarding.
