Club Without A Home
Membership has declined and there is a feeling of despondency over» shadowing the fnture of the Tanpo Power Boat and Ski Club, says a club spokesman. For more than two years the club has been conflned in its aetivities because it cannot get satisfaction from Government departments in the establishment of a permanent site round Lake Taupo. Recently Crown Land® wrote to the club, granting permission for a site to be used at Whakaipo Bay, but the decision by the department wae over-ruled by the superintendent of land development at Rotorua, Mr A. G. Tinkham. As a result of this setback to the club, a number of members have turned their interests elaewhere. The latest effort by the club to find a site has reaulted in negotiations with the Internal Affairs Department and Crown Lands for a stretch of water in the top portion of Lake Aratiatia.
