Some Surprises In Indoor
Basketball
In the first game for the Taupo lndoor Basketball Ajssociation on Wednesday, College gave St Johns a tussle, even though they went down by 14 points. This was a good performance against a team of the calibre of St Johns. For College, D. Woodney was outstanding and for the winners, G. Spackman and Henry scored well. Aratiatia were too strong for Lavenders, H. Tamepo and M. McGahey scoring 11 points each. For Lavenders, P. Herlihy and S. Frost played well. Beatles outclassed 60/8 by 26 points, inexperienc* ed Jesters were well beaten by Comets and All Stars and Tauhara (W) finished up with a 35-all draw. Teachers seem to be going from strength to strength and are playing good basketball as their defeat of Bears showed on Thursday. Educats had their revenge on Eagles when they
outplayed them to win by six points. L Dance played a major part in Tauhara's defeat of Hillbillies with a personal score of 20 points. For Hillbillies, T. O'Brien was outstanding.
