Trials For Car Club

Taupo Car Club held a night trial over a 22 miles course round Taupo last week. This was a particularly tough course and most of the competitors became lost during the evening. Organised by the club president, Mr T. Munson, the trial took about two hours to complete. The winners were Messrs G. Boot (Volkswagen) and R. Graham i(Ford Zephyr) equal 1. The club intends to hold an invitation trial to be known as a "safari trial" on July 11. Taupo club will act as hosts to Rotorua, Ha"wke's Bay, Taumarunui, Hamilton and Auckland car clubs. The site of the trial is still on the secret list, but the organisers guarantee it will be over country well capable of testing driver and car.
