Fire Police
The annual event of the swearing-in of Taupo's Fire Police will take place near the end of next month. For some years, the fire police was made up from members of the Legion of Frontiersmen, but in the past year only five members were in the force which comprises eight men. It is possible the number of fire police will be increased this year. A larger roster would allow more time for the men to attend to their own businesses.
