Taupo Players In Springfield Tournament
s Several Taupo players took part in the Springfield Golf Club's Queen's Birthday open tournament during the weekend. There was a field of 112 golfers from all parts of the North Island. Pat Watson reached the semi-final of the championship before he was eliminated 1 up by D. K. Boone of Springfield. Boone was beaten 3 and 2 by A. C. Relph, of Rotorua, in the final. G. F. Fearn won the championship consolation event by beating N. Jarman, of. Rotorua, 3 and 2 in the final. H. Hawkes reached the final of group three before he was beaten 2 up by C. Johnson, of Springfield.
