CHALLENGE TO DEBATE ON VIETNAM DECISION
The Taupo Labour Representation Committee ha/s challenged the Taupo Member of Parliament, Mrs Rona Stevenson, to a " debate on the G.overnment deeision to send troops to Vietnam. The committee has asked her whether or not s'he would be prepared to speak in favour of the Government's deeision and to justify to the electors of Taupo
her vote on the matter. The Labour Party would also provide a. speaker to put forward the opposite case at the meeting and it was suggested the meeting take place in Taupo as soon as possible. Mrs Stevenson could not be reached yesterday afternoon to comment on the proposal.
