Waters in Waihora Bay | on the western shores of Lake Taupo had been discoloured for some distance I out from shore following road work in the area, Mr T. Disney said at Saturday's conference of the Federation of Lake Taupo angling, boating and shooting clubs. Mr A. Milling, land development and bad farm practise were three factors causing the j trouble. The conference approved the following remit:— "In view of the damage to fishing in the Western j Bays of Lake Taupo due to j road work and land devel- j opment, the department is j urged to take the matter up with the land development branch to avoid future repetition."
