BIG PROBLEM IN LACK OF

CLASSROOMS

Taupo-nui-a-Tia College will not, in the forseeable future, have sufficient permanent classrooms to house its pupils. This was revealed on Tuesday night when the ! Board of Governors con- ; sidered a report on past, j present and future figures. ! The report showed a gradual decline in the number of permanent rooms available, compared with

those required. The following figures deal with the situat.ion: —

The board discussed the "ridiculous situat-ion" which arose with the building programme at the college, in particular the short- j sighted building of only j the first half of the' Nelson j block, with the second half | to be huilt in the future.. This would cost New Zealand an additional £12,000 because the whole job was not done at once. "We eannot get the Education Department to look further than 12 months ahead," the chairman, Mr C. S.
