One Failed Test

Fourteen applicants were tested for driyers' licences during April, reported Traffic Officer A. M. Campbell to Monday's meeting of the Taupo Borough Council. ''Of this number six were new tests, six were extensions to existing licences and ^ two were 'oralonly' tests. Of this number, one failed the written questionnaire," he said. "Twenty- three road users were warned and 74 reported for various breaches of the regulations. "During the month, checks were carried out on both day and night patrols. One parking offence notice was issued for double parking and two were warned for simllar offences. "Followlng light checks, carried out in the borough over the period, it was found the standard of lighting was good, although 29 notices were issued for lighting offences," he concluded.
