INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE USE OF INFRA-RED LAMPS
After you have plugged your Lamp into the power point, and switched on, wait three or four mimutes for the element to reach ihe correct operating tureIt is desirable that the patient should assume a comfortable position, the use of any chair or couch and pillows etc should be used when necessary, so that the patient may relax and feel at ease. The lamp should then be adjusted so that the edge of the reflector is about 15 inches from and the element perpendicular to the area being treated. One should experience a sensation of comfortable warmth- Uncomfortable heat is an indication that the lamp is too close to the areaTreatment can occur as often as desired without any harm, but a treatment of 30 to 40 minutes is more effective than one or more shorter periods of treatment. The '
best time for treatment is before " retiring, or alternatively, the pa+ient should rest for a short time following treatment and the area should be kept warm. The Infra-Red Lamp is designed for the home treatment of many common painful conditions. But * should there be any doubt as to the nature of the complaint, 3rou are advised to consult your doctor # ^
