Good Prospects For Winter

Feed Situation

From almost every part of New Zealand come reports of satlsfactory autumn growth and good winter feed prospects. The Dalgety Loan News Service reports that good falls of rain and milder weather encouraged pasture growth in practically all districts and, while some areas had the wettest March on record with a certain amount of flooding, conditions generally point to a favourable winter. Persistent rain has kept feed conditions fairly constant over most of the Auckland area. Thames reports that the feed position is still very good. The weather turned milder later in the month and growth for this time of the year has been quite good. The western Bay of Plenty has experienced

one of the best autnmns in histor y this year. Throughout March the pasturep benefited from regular rains followed by warm weather with the result that there was excellent continned growth.
