The secondary department of the Taupo Distriet High School vvound up their season with rugjoy on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and basketball 011 Thursday and .Saturday, of last vveek. On Thursday morning the 1st XV left for Bombay, the 2nd XV and A and C basketball teams left for Tongariro whilst the 3rd XV and B basketball team travelled to Reporoa. The 1st XV met an Auckland Grammar team on the Friday. They arrived 'back at 1.30 a.m. on Sunday. That same day the 2nd XV and A •and B basketball teams played Rotorua High at Rotorua, and Ihe 3rd XV met. the Ross Sliield team at Taupo. Highlights of Trip The fir'st tifteen wero under the eharge of Mr J. T. K. O'Leary and departed at 7 a.m. on the Thursday. That afternoon they, played St Stephen's Maori College 3rd XV in tlie rain, and after holding them to a three-nil lead at the half they tired, and St Stephen's roinped home by 30 to nil. On the Friday they visited the lmiseum in the morning, and i>layed Auckland Grammar 3rd A in the afternoon. Tliis mateli was mucli more even, with Grammar winning by 14 ooints to 8. Saturday was the highlight of ihe trip wlien the boys visited the Zoological Gardens in the morning and tlien went to the Nort.h-South Island match. They arrived back tired and sleepv and with the flu, but all with the same voice that the trip was well wortli while. During their trip they were billeted nt St Stephen's College. Results of Games Results: Rugby: lst XV v St Stephen s, lost 30-nil, v Auckland Grammar, lost 14-8; 2nd XV v Tongariro 1st XV, lost 33-12, v Rotorua 3rd XV, lost 25nil ; 3rd XV v Reporoa lst. XV, lost 10-8, v Ross sliield team. lost 16-3. Basketball: Taupo A v Turangi A, won 26-14, v Rotorua H.S. C, won 11-0: Taupo B v Reporoa A, won 20-5, v Rotorua 1), lost 13-5; Taupo C v Turangi B, lost 10-9.
