WOMAN WANTS TO JOIN BAND

A married woman who is fond of niusic would like to join the Taupo Citizens' Silver Band, but would like to have the company of another woman with similar interests. That was what the band secretaiy, Mr II. Reading, toki the Times yesterday. Meanwhile, the fund to help pay for the instruments now belng used by members of the band has reached £337 3s. The latest contributions are: Mrs A. H. Beattie, £2 2s; Miss E. W. Ciark, £2 2s; F. McColl, £1; G. II. Wilson, 10s. During the practice at the school last Monday night, the band played v a marcli, and the conductor, Mr W. Wilkinson, said afterwards that he was pleased with the progress belng made.
