ST. ANDREW'S HAS WIN OVER REPOROA IN TABLE TENNIS GAMES

When 27 members of tlie St Andrew's Table Tennis Club visited the Reporoa Club recently, Taupo won by 31 matclies to 24. The matclies were played under excellent conditions ; a fine hall and good lighting. The following players represented Taupo : Men, S. Mathers, H. Matthews, N. Jones, A. Madden, J. Rissington, J. Thompson, A. Cavaye, P. Bergman, I). Loughlan, G. Thimbleby, K. Meredith, A. Reading, R. Iteading, Ii. Blackwood. Women, G. Cavaye, N. Mathers, J. Stanley, S. Johnstone, S. Rewa, F. Balmforth. O. Cavaye, F. Winterbottom, It. Boot.h, D. Dunn and L. Judd. The results of play were as follows : Men's singles, Reporoa 8, Taupo 7 ; women's singles, Taupo 8, Reporoa 5 ; men's doubles, Taupo 4, Reporoa 4 ; womens' doubles, Taupo 4, Reporoa 2: combined doubles, Taupo 8, Reporoa 5. At the conclusion of the series the Reporoa captain, Mr D. Hope, thanked the Taupo representatives and congratulated them on their success. On behalf of the Taupo Club, Mr A. Cavaye thonked Reporoa for their hospitality, and cornmented on the generally high standard of play. He extended an invitation for a return match at Taupo later in the season.
