POLICE PROSECUTIONS
In the Taupo Court, on January 26, charges of having nine bottles of beer in the vicinity of the Waipahihi Hall, while a dance was in progress, were preferred against Gavin Ross Mc Kenzie, Ronald Robson and Geoi ge Wharerau. Defendants did not appear. Constable R. McNaughton gave I evidence as to defendants being in possession of the liquor in a car. In answer to the Magistrate, witness said the men were not drunk, and ' that the hall had been well conducted. Defendants were convicted and fined £2, with Court costs £1, each. Ringinui Rameka, for purchasing liquor at the Lake Hotel on J anuary j 13, being under 21 years of age, was fined £2, with costs £1. For failing to notify his change of address, being the registered owner of a .303 rifle, Reginald Frederick Wilson was fined £3, costs £1.
