DECEMBER BUILDING PERMITS

Twentythree building permits were issued in December by the Borough Building Inspector, Mr C. C. Webb, the totai estimated value of the buildings being £11, 955. Included in the buildings were eight dwellings three garages f°ur store-rooms or sheds, one workshop, and four additions. In a discussion arising out of estimated values of buildings as shown in permit applications, it was decided on tlie motion of Cr Swan, seconded by Cr Vedder, that the Building Inspector be advised that the Council was of the opinion that any dwelling built to specifications required by the Council's Building By-laws, should be valued at a minimum of £2 per square foot.
