A progressive pairs tournament was held by the Taupo Bowling Club on New Year's Day, when the winning skip was Mr J. M. Stanley, with four wins, and the winning lead Mr V. Simpson, also with four wins. Results were as f ollows. Skips : Colbeck, 2 wins; Baumberg 1|; Pennycook, 2 ; R. McMillian, 3 ; Booth, 3; McGreevy, 3; Attwood, 1|; Ellis, i; Mahanga, 1; J. McBeth, 2; Stanley, 4.' Leads: Jones, 3; Searell 2; Christensen, 2; Harlan, 2J; Rewa, 3; F. McBeth, 1; Columb, 2i; Thompson, i; Jenkins, li; Sowden, 2; Simpson, 4. The following are results of Club competition games played over the holidays: Junior Singles: W. Rewa 24 v. H. Morrison 12; Simpson 19 v. W. Rewa 13. Open Singles: J. McBeth 19 v. F. Bostock 10; Attwood 17 v. McGreevy 16 ; J. McBeth 22 v. McLean 16; McMillan 20 v. Prosser 12. Handicap Pairs: Simpson and Walker 22 v. McBeth and McMillan 19; Prosser and McLean 32 v. Davies and McBeth 13.
