RETIREMENT OF CROWN LANDS COMMISSIONER

At the recent meeting of the Taupo Borough Council appreciative references were made by the Mayor and Councillors to Mr N. J. Till, Commissioner of Crown Lanas at Hamilton, who was to retire at the end of the year. Mr Till had been helpful on many occasions to the Council, and particularly in connection with the enlargement of the Golf Links domain and the Bowling Club reserve, and the matter of the vesting in the Council of reserves in the Borough. At the final meeting for the year of the East Taupo Domains Board, of which Mr Till has been the chairman since its inception, and Yvhich administers the Motutere Bay Motor Camp, regret at Mr Till's retirement was expressed. Following the meeting, members were guests at the home of Mr and Mrs L. H. Cheal, when the Mayor and Mayoress, Mr and Mrs J. E. Story, were also present, and good wishes were extended to Mr Till for a long and happy retirement.
