List Falls Below Quota The Taupo Blood Donors' Commitfj tee, which has now been operating U two years, has at present 59 donors | available on its list. The blood bank - scheme organised by the Waikato | allots a quota to each town or dis- | trict, based on population, and 1 Taupo's quota is 77. While this num'i ber has been secured in the past, | transfers of donors from the district if have resulted in the number now I available being below quota. The committee is anxious to secure 1 more donors, and those willing to unj dertake this very necessary service are asked to communicate with the | secretary, Mrs J. E. Booth, Mere . Road, Taupo (Telephone 107D). The Blood Bank Unit from Rotorua | Hospital is to visit Taupo on Monday ■ evening next, December 19, when 1 donors will receive appointments to : attend at the Taupo Hospital. - The special purpose of this .visit is to build up a reserve of blood at Rotorua to be available for emergencies over the holiday period. Blood may be stored as whole blood in a refrigerator for a limited period, I and blood obtained next Monday will | be stored thus, being much more conveniently used when treated this 1 way. During the time the Taupo CommitI tee has been operating the donors who | have topped the list of blood dona- | tions in Taupo have been Mrs T. | Ooley, Messrs R. Lang, A. R. McLean 1 and J. E. Booth. . .
