C.W.I. GARDEN CIRCLE

There was an attendance of 17 members at the November meeting of the Gardening Oircle of the Taupo Oountry women's Instit.ute, at Mr W. Stowe's residence, Waipahihi Avenue. A visit was rnade to the garden of Mr and Mrs J. R. Barber, Crowther Terrace, where the rock gardens and shrubs were much admired. Particular interest centred on a kauri tree about 20 feet in height, and bearing cones. Another garden visited was that of Mr C. J. Mackay, Waipahihi Avenue. Mrs Iving, the circle convener, expressed the members' appreciation of the opportunity of seeing both gardens. During the meeting there was a discussion on the recent show and on further improvements possible in future shows.
