Speeding in Borough
Tlie speed of many motorists on the roads recently formed in preparation for sealing. particularly on Rifle Range Road and Kaimanawa Street, was referred to at the recent Borough Council meeting. The Mayor, Mr J. E. Story, mentioned that on a recent day every second car he had watched near Ihe Heulieu Street-Kaimanawa Street junction was travelling at nearer 50 miles per hour than 40. | Many motorists just did not co-opera-1 ate, and he was sorry for householders, and women and children on the roads especially. The Council decided | to ask the Traffic Inspector to spend some time on Rifle Range Road.
