BIG PRICE DIFFERENCE IN FOOTPATH TENDERS

Three tenders were considered by the Borough Council on Wednesday, October 21, in connection with the footpaths on the two street frontages of the new Lake Ilotel. They covered the laying of concret.e footpath in Tongariro Street for a length of chains, and the construction of kerb, channel and ramps in Tuwharetoa Street, together with the laying of concret.e footpath, for a length of five chains, more or less. Cr Barton moved seconded by Or Currie, that the lowest tender, submitted by Messrs Foley and Sommerville, of Rotorua, be accepted. The amount of the tender was £775 10s. The other two tenders, submitted by Taupo tenderers, were respectively £967 10s and £1328.
