HARD-UP DANCE AT TAUREWA

A very enjoyable and successful hard-up dance was held by the women of the Taurewa M.W.W.L., at Taurewa on October 14. Music was provided by tlie Batchlor Orcliestra, with extras played by Mrs M. Hepi. Mr Wilfred Winters was M.C. Mr and Mrs G. Whakarau acted as judges for the novelty dances and the drawing of the Maori CoUege Appeal raffle. Donations were received from Mr and Mrs T. Hepi, Mr and Mrs Batchlor, Mr J. Hepi, Mr B. Seymour Mr B. Stewart. Winners of the novelty dances were : Best dressed couple, Mr J Ruru and Mrs V. Pakau ; spot waltz. Mr and Mrs Murphy ; statue dance. Mrs Pohihipi and Mrs Pakau. Win ner of the Maori College appeal raffle was Mrs M. Hepi. Ilome prepared supper was served by Mrs M. I-Ierkt and helpers.
