TAUREWA MAORI WOMEN'S WELFARE LEAGUE
The October meeting of the Taurewa Maori Women's Welfare League was held at the residence of Mr and Mrs D. Anania, Ketetahi Mill. Mrs Mitareta Hepi presided and Mrs T. Moses led Ihe opening prayer. Apologies were received from Mesdamcs Whit.e, Ruhe, Panl, Shelford, Moana and B. Thompson. The main cliscussion dealt with the local school reports received from the headmistress. The monthly competitions were keenly contested, the judge for the evening being Mrs C. Anania. Results were as follows: — Cooking: Mesdames Thompson, Moses, Manunui. Sewing: Mesdames Thompson, Manunui, Ruhe. Health: Mesdames Thompson, Herkt, Ruhe. Arts and Crafts: Mesdames Turanga, Thompson, Herkt. Horticultural : Mesdames Manunui, Tueanga, Thompson. Hostesses for the evening were Miss T. Anania and members of the Junior League. Mrs Hepi, concluding the meeting, offered a special prayer the meeting being the last at which she would preside before leaving the district.
