C.W.I. GARDEN CIRCLE

The Taupo Country women's Institute Gardening Circle lield its Oetober meeting at the home of Mrs W. Stowe, over 20 members being present. Members found much to interest and admire in walks througlh the gardens of Mrs U. L. Arlow, Mrs J. L. Biundeli and Mr C. J. Mackay, in which there were brilliant displays of tulips, anemones and ranunculi. Following. a welcome afternoon tea, a eompetition was held involving the naming of shrubs and trees in Mrs Arlow's grounds, the winner of which was Mrs E. F. Wright. Mrs W. King, convener of the circle, expressed the thanks of members for the kind permission given by the owners to inspect their gardens. Members exchanged flower and vegetable plants.
