LIQUOR NEAR DANCE HALLS
In the Magistrate's Court, Taupo, before Mr W. A. Marlow, S.M., six charges were brought against various defendants for having intoxicating liquor in their possession in the vicinity of dance halls at Taupo while dances were in progress. There was no appearance of defendant in any of the cases, and all were convicted, fines and costs being* as given below : Dorothy B. Donnelly, Waipahihi Hall, July 16, £3 and £1 ;• Maxwell Rhyll Gunn, same occasion, £4 10s and £1; Sonny Marama, same occasion, £4 10s and £1. William Edward Hogan, War Memorial Hall, August 27, £3 and £1 ; 3 oseph Ambrose Robinson, same occa sion, £3 and £1: Bruce Alan Thomp sun, same occasion, £3 and £1.
