LADIES' GOLF NOTES

On Thursday, September 29, the Taupo Ladies' Golf Club was visited by 20 members of the Rotorua Ladies' Club. After an early lunch at the clubhouse, play commenced under very pleasant weather conditions, and the freshly cut greens made a deep impression on the visitors. The results were : Mrs Foote defeated Mrs Garlick ; Miss Branson defeated Miss Knight; and Taupo won the fourball. Mrs Hullten lost to Mrs Bould, and Mrs Douglas defeated Mrs Parata, Rotorua winning the fourball. Mrs Colbeck defeated Mrs Penno, and Miss Bernau, a visitor from Napier, defeated Mrs Herbert, Taupo winning the fourball. Mrs D. Logan defeated Mrs Hymes, Miss McKelvie lost to Mrs Lewis, and Taupo won the fourball. Mrs Young defeated Mrs Sundgren, Mrs Fearn defeated Mrs W. Smith, and the Taupo players won the fourball. Mrs Watson lost to Mrs Bland, Mrs Bennett defeated Mrs Leat, and Mrs Watson and Mrs Bennett won the fourball. Mrs Nelson defeated Mrs Lewis, Mrs Cheal lost to Mrs Coun, and Rotorua won the fourball. Mrs Irvine lost to Mrs Carter, and Mrs Barton lost to Mrs Langgutb, and Rotorua had another win in the fourball. Mrs Graham defeated Mrs Lindell, Mrs Pearse lost to Mrs Rathbone, and Rotorua won the fourball. Mrs C'hristensen lost to Mrs Wright. Taupo won the match with 16 wins t- Rotorua's 12. The Taupo ladies have been invited to play a return match at Rotorua at the beginning of next season.
