Whopper Chopper
A chopper pig, two years and three months old, slaughtered at the Greymouth abattoirs recently weighed SOOlb dressed. The pig, bred and reared by Mr T. N. Mouat, Punakaiki, was estimated to have been more than 10001b live weight. The abattoir staff could not recall having handled a larger pig. It had been put on a diet a month ago to stop it growing bigger. A cattle trailer was used to transport the pig to Greymouth.
