ROTORUA FOOD PRICES HIGHEST IN N.Z.
, According to the consumers' price index issued last week by the Census and Statistics Department, the dearest centre in New Zealand to live in, as far as food prices are concerned, i3 Rotorua, with Whangarei and ' Hamilton close up in second and third places. Rotorua's all-foods index was shown as 1679, Whangarei^ as 1677 and Hamilton's as 1674. Auckland's all-foods index was 1599, Christbeing the dearest of the large ities at 1644. Napier with 1549 showed the cheapest food price index in the Dominion.
